GeoLiteracy! This summer's institute is open to any elementary teacher who
would like to learn how to enhance their language arts curriculum with geography. (Middle school teachers are also welcome.)
This 3-day residential summer institute will be heaped with content
and teaching ideas to bring true integration of geography content
into your language arts program. You will receive so many books and
teaching materials you'll hardly be able to carry them home. Room
and board is provided and graduate credit is available.
Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. until Wednesday, August 6,
2008 at 4:00 p.m. at Keene State College, Keene, New Hampshire
Curricular demands often make it difficult to include essential
geographic content in the elementary classroom. Many teachers have
little or no geography training. Therefore....this summer institute
meets both these needs, providing you with both content and strategies
to include geography in your existing curriculum.
Please e-mail the NH Geographic Alliance at kalvarez@keene.edu for a GeoLiteracy Application
form. Spaces are limited so please act quickly. Call 355-9921 with any questions.
