The Outreach Program of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies serves K-12 public, private and charter schools in the greater New England area in providing resources for teaching about Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The US Department of Education funds these activities under its Title VI grant, which designates a number of universities as National Resource Centers.
The Outreach Program is staffed by Outreach Director Cris Martin and Outreach Assistant Nicole Rivett, who assist educators and students in a variety of ways. Some of the OP’s most commonly utilized resources include:
-
- The Source, a monthly email newsletter
- Outreach Program News, a biannual print newsletter
- Teacher workshops
- Classroom visits
- Books
- Videos
- Other materials
- Downloads, including the new GULAG curriculum unit
