University of California Academic Connections 2011 Hawaii Scholarship

High school students have a chance to win an all expenses paid trip to study for a week in Hawaii. The theme for the University of California San Diego’s Academic Connections 2011 Hawaii Scholarship Contest is “How to Care for the Earth,” and entrants are asked to submit a short video on a variation of this theme.

Videos may be animations, photo slide shows, or live action Videos will be featured on the Academic Connections website and the UCSD Extension YouTube channel.

Winner receives full tuition and airfare (up to $5,000 in value, includes room and board) for a weeklong course on the diverse ecosystems and climate zones of the Island of Hawaii, August 17-24, 2011, on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Scholarship contest is open to 9-11th grade students as of the 2010-11 school year. Videos may be created by an individual or group, but only one scholarship will be awarded per video. See the online application at extension.ucsd.edu.

Winners will be notified by July 31.

Entries must be postmarked by June 30, 2011.
