Cross-Cultural Journeys in Literature.(Free)

March 25, 2014, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

at the Mariposa Museum, 26 Main Street, Peterborough, NH.

Literature offers a powerful medium for journeying into the world of cultures. In this workshop, middle and high school teachers will learn dynamic, interactive strategies for opening up this rich world for students. Using excerpts from books and multimedia, teachers will experience these strategies directly as learners while also gaining insights into how to select and tailor materials for their classes and students. Take-away sample lessons and reading lists will be provided.

The workshop is free thanks to support from the NH Humanities Council. CEUs available. Among the social studies curriculum standards addressed are Geography 4, US/NH History 5 and World History 2.

  1. Hi!
I would like to REGISTER for the March 25, 2014 Literature Wrokshop at the Mariposa (and lunch) in Peterborough.
I did not see a signup form. My email is Teacher2011DH@gmail.com. I am a NH HQT licensed English/English Language Arts teacher, and I would like to sign up also for the CEU’s certificate. Thank you! Sounds exciting! Deb
