Geography Awareness Week

Ways to Celebrate

November 11-17

Celebrate!!!
Ask your principal to officially declare Geography Awareness Week over the PA system. Have a Geography Trivia Contest: one question in the morning and one in the afternoon all week.
Ask students with Asian ties (or their relatives) if they would like to come in and talk about their culture.
Have a T-shirt Day. See how many states and countries your class or school can represent!
Have the school librarian display books with Asian themes or characters or give a book talk.
Ask the cafeteria staff to serve Asian food.
Display posters of foreign countries.
Post projects on Asia in the hallway.
Hold a Geo-Games event in your community.

Where Have You Been???

T-Shirt Contest Wednesday, November 14th

Ask students to wear a t-shirt with a place-name. It can be anywhere!
Have students locate the place on a map.
Count the number of students who participate in your school and send it by e-mail to... cward at sau15.net
