The New Hampshire Kristi Alvarez Excellence in Geography Education Book Award!
This award will be given to a person who has been instrumental in the ongoing move towards geographic literacy in the state of New Hampshire. It honors Kristi Alvarez, past coordinator of the New Hampshire Geographic Alliance and past president of the New Hampshire Council for the Social Studies, who passed away early in 2012. She believed strongly in the need for geographic literacy in all grades from K-16.
Criteria: The criterion for this award is simple. The recipient should be a person who has dedicated time and energy toward the improvement of geographic education in the state of New Hampshire.
Process: Any person interested in nomination another individual, please complete the below application and send it to New Hampshire Geographic Alliance, Department of Geography, 229 Main Street, Keene NH 03435-2001 at Keene State College.

Timeline: Applications are due to the Keene State office by May 31st, 2013.
The winner will be notified by September 15, 2013.
The award recipient will receive a one year membership to NCGE and be eligible to be the state of New Hampshire’s nominee for next year’s National Council for Geographic Council for Geographic Education Distinguished Teacher Award.
