GIS Educators Day 2013   at the 28th Annual Fall NEARC Conference   Call for Presentations & Save the Date   Sunday, September 29   Radisson Hotel Nashua / Nashua, New Hampshire ABOUT GIS EDUCATORS DAY 2013 GIS Educators Day, sponsored by NEARC, Esri, and the New England Geography Education Network, is a full-day conference devoted exclusively to topics and issues pertaining to the use of GIS and other geospatial technologies in K-12, college, and informal education.   GIS Educators Day is a one-day pre-conference to NEARC’s annual professional user conference which will run from September 29 – October 2 at the Radisson Hotel Nashua. GIS Educators Day will feature hands-on computer labs, oral presentations, panel discussions, and lightning talks, exploring a range of resources, projects, and topics. GIS Educators Day addresses the number one goal of GIS conference goers…the opportunity to network with other professionals who share your interest in the use of geospatial technologies in the same setting. Whether you’re a K-12 or college educator, an experienced GIS user or a newcomer who wants to learn about the educational possibilities of this powerful tool, you’ll want to put this outstanding regional event on your “Must Do” list for 2013. CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS You are invited to submit a presentation proposal for the 6th Annual GIS Educators Day conference. Proposals must be received by June 17, 2013 in order to be considered. This is a pivotal year for GIS educators. The functionality of ArcGIS Online continues to expand at a rapid pace offering ever-increasing opportunities for  educational use. With ArcGIS Online you can now publish and share data,maps and applications; map field data collaboratively; create a map gallery; and much much more. Discovering Nature Wherever You Are” October 4, 2012 at the Castleton Conference Center, Windham, NH Do you have ideas, expertise and experience to share about connecting children, youth and families with nature — wherever they are? We welcome your workshop proposal for presenting at the 2012 NH Children in Nature Conference: Join us to explore the many ways we can connect all children, youth and families with nature, whether by discovering new ways to use existing outdoor spaces like backyards, vacant lots and conservation lands, or creating new spaces in schoolyards, city parks and neighborhoods. We invite teachers, city planners, environmental educators, artists, community members, park and recreation professionals, business owners, health practitioners, and others with experience, expertise and ideas to share on this topic, to submit a workshop proposal. GIS Educators Day will be held Sunday, November 11 in connection with the annual NEARC Conference. This year we are pleased to combine our event with the annual Conference of GIS Educators from Maine. We look forward to the expanded professional opportunities that this collaboration makes possible.
