Save the Date in July 2013 for the newly refurbished Watershed Ecology Institute – see flyer! We have totally revamped it for a more direct link to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and its use in aquatic studies. We will be focusing on rivers, wetlands and estuarine and rocky shore aquatic environments. We will be collecting, mapping and analyzing water quality and fisheries data sets from EPSCoR and NHF&G and will unveil a new rocky shore coastal transect as part of the marine day. Teachers will go home with access to free GIS software and aquatic study tutorials to use in their classrooms. Instruction will be given from various resource specialists and teachers themselves!
For those of you who have taken the WEI, you can take it again and still learn new things. This is a totally new focus and new water quality, macroinvertebrate, fisheries, wetlands and coastal protocols!
We are partnering this year with Keene State College who will offer 3 undergraduate/graduate credits for $660.00 and no additional fees!!! Small stipends for in-service teachers will also be available.
Registration details will follow – contact me with any questions – hope to see you there!
